Disc Golf, Technology, Indian food and Irish music

I've been dying to try out my GolfTracker iPhone app and finally got the chance last night when we played a round of disc golf at the Johnny Roberts course in Arvada.

The interface works great for inputting the scores after each hole, but I found a piece missing in that there was no running total of each player's score. I also can't seem to find a way to see the total score after a round - it only shows the player's best round. Maybe this information will surface after I add another round.

For the record, Chris won the round with 13 over, Jeff was second with 14 over, I was third with 15 over and Christina came in fourth with 20 over. Yeah, we're not that good :-)

We usually grab some grub after disc golf and so last night we tried a new (yet very familiar) restaurant called Yak and Yeti in Old Towne Arvada.

There's a little history here. Yak and Yeti recently opened in a building that for the past six or seven years had been the Cheshire Cat Brewpub. One day without warning, the Cheshire Cat was gone and Yak and Yeti had opened in its place.

We decided to check it out and see what had changed. With the exception of the food and a couple new pieces of Indian art, the place is exactly the same. Anyone who has ever been to the Cheshire Cat, will understand how strange this is.

The bar was the same (the only thing missing was the microbrew) and the bar crowd was the same. The same guys who used to gather at the Cat to play Irish folk songs were in the bar of the Indian restaurant playing Irish Folk songs. It was surreal.

The furnishings and Victorian decor, which fit a British pub, were also the same. As we were leaving, I took a look into the brew house and noticed that all the equipment and grain were still there. I said out loud, but to myself, "That's weird." The manager who was standing nearby said, "That's our brewery."

Cool. An Indian restaurant with a microbrewery. Let's eat!
